Experienced welders proud of their working conditions: the best engineering workshop in Central Ostrobothnia

For Tuomas Korkiala and Tero Vähähyyppä, who weld steel truss elements, Best-Hall is like a big family where employees and their working conditions and equipment are thoroughly taken care of.

Tuomas Korkiala and Tero Vähähyyppä, who build steel frames for buildings together, have stayed at Best-Hall because of the interesting projects and the exceptionally good working environment.

“Few engineering workshops are this clean and use the best possible equipment,” says Tero, who has worked for the company for 20 years.

Experience confirmed that this is the place to be

Tero Vähähyyppä stayed at Best-Hall straight after doing his vocational school practical training there. The experience was so good that the young metal worker knew that he wanted to be part of this very group.

“Even as a recent graduate, I didn’t have to prove my skills. Instead, my colleagues immediately took me on board and trusted my abilities.”

Tuomas Korkiala, who studied to become a vehicle mechanic, did not stay on directly after his practical training, but first took a job elsewhere, until his memories of the great working environment and teamwork attracted him back to Best-Hall.

“I appreciate the flexibility and how things can always be arranged. If you need a holiday or a new set of workwear, it’s yours.”

Occupational safety and employee well-being come first

The two welders, who perform heavy physical work with steel elements, give special thanks to Best-Hall for its focus on occupational safety. The company seems to genuinely care about its employees’ health.

“For example, the number of cranes has been increased in recent years to further lighten the workload. New tools to make work easier are also constantly being developed.”

The men also commend the culture of people supporting and helping each other.

“If someone comes up with a way to make a task easier, the idea is immediately put forward. We also look after each other by reminding our colleagues about things like certain helpful equipment if we notice that they have forgotten to make use of it.”

“Sometimes we are almost surprised ourselves at how good things actually are here,” the men laugh.
